CLIENT CONSENT & GROOMING AGREEMENT

OWNER DECLARATION

 

I confirm that all information provided about my pet is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that grooming involves working with live animals and, while every care is taken to maintain a calm and safe environment, there is always an inherent risk.

 

I acknowledge that this risk may be increased due to factors including, but not limited to, matting, sensitive or fragile skin, age (young or senior pets), pre-existing or underlying health conditions, and behavioural challenges.

HEALTH & WELFARE

 

I agree to disclose any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or behavioural concerns prior to grooming. I understand that grooming may be stopped at any time if it is in the best interest of my pet’s welfare.

 

I authorise Vanity Fur to seek veterinary advice or treatment if deemed necessary. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact me prior to this; however, if I cannot be reached, I authorise Vanity Fur to act in my pet’s best interest. I accept full responsibility for any veterinary costs incurred.

MATTED COATS

 

I understand that heavily matted coats will be clipped short for welfare reasons. I acknowledge that matting can conceal underlying skin conditions and may result in skin irritation, clipper irritation, nicks, cuts, or abrasions once removed.

 

I accept that removing matting carries increased risk and agree not to hold Vanity Fur liable for any issues arising as a direct result of pre-existing matting or coat condition.

BEHAVIOUR & HANDLING

 

I agree to inform Vanity Fur of any history of aggression, anxiety, or handling sensitivities. I understand that if my pet becomes unsafe or overly distressed, the grooming session may be stopped.

 

I consent to the use of appropriate handling equipment, including restraints or muzzles where necessary, to ensure the safety of my pet and the groomer. I accept responsibility for any injury caused by my pet.

FLEAS, PARASITES & SALON HYGIENE

 

I understand that if fleas or parasites are found, treatment may be administered and additional charges may apply. In cases of severe infestation, grooming may be stopped.

 

I agree that additional cleaning or sanitation charges may be applied if my pet presents a contamination risk to the salon environment.

ACCIDENTS, INJURY & EMERGENCY CARE

 

While every precaution is taken, grooming involves the use of sharp tools and equipment. I understand that minor incidents such as nicks, scratches, clipper irritation, or nail quicking can occur, particularly in sensitive areas or with matted, elderly, anxious, or moving pets.

 

I accept that such incidents may be unavoidable despite the highest level of care.

 

In the event of illness or injury, I authorise Vanity Fur to seek immediate veterinary treatment. Every effort will be made to contact me first; however, if I am unreachable, I consent to treatment being carried out in my pet’s best interest. I accept full responsibility for all veterinary costs and related expenses.

LIABILITY AGREEMENT

 

I acknowledge that grooming may expose or aggravate pre-existing or underlying conditions that were not visible prior to the groom.

 

I agree that Vanity Fur is not liable for:

• Pre-existing health or skin conditions

• Issues arising from matting removal

• Reactions related to grooming stress

• Minor, unavoidable grooming-related injuries

• Any condition not disclosed prior to the appointment

 

I agree not to hold Vanity Fur, its owner, team members, or representatives liable for any injury, illness or loss of my pet, except in cases of proven negligence.

COLLECTION & APPOINTMENTS

 

I agree to collect my pet promptly upon completion of the grooming service. I understand that late collection may result in additional charges.

 

I acknowledge that pets not collected within a reasonable timeframe, and where no contact can be made, may be considered abandoned and handled accordingly.

 

I understand that a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling, and that late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.

PAYMENT

 

I understand that payment is due upon collection of my pet. I acknowledge that pricing may vary depending on coat condition, behaviour, and the time required to complete the groom.

PHOTOGRAPHY CONSENT

 

I consent to my pet being photographed and images used for marketing, social media, and promotional purposes, unless I request otherwise.

WELFARE-FIRST APPROACH

 

I understand that Vanity Fur operates on a welfare-first basis. Grooming will not be forced if it compromises my pet’s physical or emotional wellbeing.
